Gemini Jar in Kastaniá Speckle Gloss – XL

Gemini is a series of lidded jars — with each vessel composed of two equal halves, united to create a singular body. This structural unity is central to the work’s inquiry into interconnectedness — not simply as a visual motif, but as a philosophical condition: the idea that all things, inner and outer, material and unseen, exist in relationship. Drawing on the celestial symbolism of the Gemini constellation — the mythic twins Castor and Pollux — the series explores the tension and harmony between dualities – resonating with ancient notions of the vessel as a sacred object — a container not only of physical materials, but of memory, ritual, and the ineffable.

The work is a one of a kind, and wheel thrown, fired in oxidation electric kiln.
Made with Australian blend of stoneware clays.
Studio developed Kastaniá Speckle Gloss glaze on surface and Ouranós Blue on interior.
