The Incense Pectus

Incense comes from the Latin word incendere, meaning ‘to burn’.

The history of incense,  is synonymous with ritualism and spirituality,

considered to be the first produced fragrant material.

The Incence Pectus is the first iteration from the series The Age of Aquarius.

A sculptural form of functional use.

The Age of Aquarius is a series exploring  expressions of  ‘Tools for ritual’

Handmade in Wurundjeri Country, Carlton, VIC using Australian black stained mid-fire clay.

Dish is glazed on the underside with a custom glaze using raw stains and cobalt carbonate.

Each form varies slightly in form so measurements are a guide, not approximate.
